AirTrain is affordable.
When you buy a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket to or from Newark Liberty International Airport Station, that one ticket includes the AirTrain Newark portion--$5.50. Children under age 5 ride for free.
Contact PATH, NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak for more information on discounted monthly tickets, 10-trip tickets and other special fares. All fares are subject to change.
You must use the ticket twice — regardless of which direction you’re traveling. You’ll need to show the ticket to the conductor on the NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak train, and you’ll need the ticket to pass through the fareline at Newark Liberty International Airport Station. Be sure to take the ticket with you.

If you already have a NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket, including a commuter weekly or monthly ticket, to a destination past the Newark Liberty International Airport Station, you may use it to get to or from the Airport Station. However, you will also need to purchase a separate $5.50 NJ TRANSIT ticket at the Airport Station from ticket machines located within the station.
Where to purchase NJ TRANSIT tickets:
- At ticket machines located at the entrance to AirTrain stations in each airline terminal.
- From ticket machines located at the Ground Transportation Center in Terminal C.
- At machines located at Newark Liberty International Airport Station.
- From ticket agents or ticket machines located at most NJ TRANSIT stations.

- At QuikTrak machines or Amtrak ticket agents located at Newark Liberty International Airport Station.
- From Amtrak ticket agents or QuikTrak machines located at Amtrak train stations.
