AirTrain Newark provides easy connections to and from NJ TRANSIT and Amtrak through one gateway- Newark Liberty International Airport Station. Purchase a ticket from NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak and the AirTrain Newark fee of $5.50 will be included — one ticket does it all.

Check with NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak to determine ticket cost (based on your starting location), and train schedules, especially first and last train times weekdays, weekends and holidays.

If you are leaving the airport, take AirTrain Newark to the Airport Station. When you exit AirTrain, follow the signs to NJ TRANSIT trains. Purchase your NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket to reach your destination. If you are arriving at the airport, disembark at the Airport Station and follow the signs to the AirTrain platform.
  Whether you are arriving or departing, you will need your NJ TRANSIT or Amtrak ticket to transfer through the fare gates. It takes approximately five minutes to travel between AirTrain and the train platforms. Take a virtual tour of the Airport Station.

NJ TRANSIT: www.njtransit.com
Weekdays, between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m., three NJ TRANSIT trains arrive every hour at the Airport Station. Between
9 p.m. and midnight, two trains arrive every hour. Service is not available between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.

Amtrak: www.amtrak.com
Amtrak service on the Northeast Corridor runs approximately every hour between the Airport Station, New York City and Philadelphia. Amtrak also runs hourly service to New York City with some trains continuing to or originating from Boston, MA providing service to Stamford and New Haven, CT and intermediate points.

  PATH: www.pathrail.com
PATH, a service of the Port Authority, is a rail link between Manhattan and neighboring New Jersey communities and suburban railroads. It's available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Trains run frequently during most hours every day, but run at a reduced frequency during certain hours of the day. Passengers can connect with PATH at Newark Penn Station.

  • Trenton, NJ: 66 min.

  • 33 Street, NYC: 60 min.
  • World Trade Center, NYC: 40 min.

  • Via Amtrak
